How it works
- Connect the store and begin with an inventory read.
- Specify the store, item and location or variation, plus the intended quantity.
- Enable Starter or higher and write access for supported changes. Ask the AI to check the current value before updating.
- Read the quantity again afterward. If the value changed in the meantime or the outcome is uncertain, reconcile it rather than retrying blindly.

Square: variation and location
Read inventory by catalog variation and location. Set a physical count after checking the current value. Unknown or untracked inventory is not treated as zero.
WooCommerce: product or variation
Read stock for a product or variation and set the supported quantity. Confirm that WooCommerce stock management is enabled for the target item.
No automatic synchronization
Inventory changes target one connected store. Store MCP does not reserve or mirror the same physical units across platforms.
Questions before you connect?
Does Store MCP automatically sync inventory?
No. It provides inventory reads and supported writes. It does not automatically synchronize quantities between connected stores.
Are inventory changes protected by a browser approval?
Not every change. Inventory writes need the plan, write permission and store access, but do not use the separate refund/cancellation approval flow. Keep the client’s own review prompts enabled and start read-only.
Can I subscribe to low-stock alerts here?
There is no dedicated low-stock event or user-configurable polling schedule in this release. Ask for an inventory check; the notifications page describes the order events that are supported.
