Use a public HTTPS origin with pretty permalinks, REST API v3 and an origin-root installation. Your host must preserve Authorization headers and allow the native callback. Review hosting requirements.

Writes need a paid plan, permission and provider support. Actual grants may be narrower.
Products and images
Read simple and variable products. Create and edit simple products, manage images and change supported publication states. Listing updates do not create or edit variations.
Stock for a specific item
Read inventory and set stock using the returned product or variation inventory identifier. Untracked stock is unknown, not zero. Inventory adjustment and location discovery are unavailable.
Read-only orders
Review orders without moving your data into another dashboard. Fulfillment, tracking changes, refunds, cancellations and incoming order events are not supported.

- In Store MCP, open Stores, choose WooCommerce and enter your public HTTPS store origin.
- Authorize on that exact WooCommerce host. Store credentials go directly to Store MCP, never into chat.
- Return to Stores and verify the connection and saved domain.
- Authorize your AI with View only access and compare one known product with your store dashboard.

View only to start
Authorize each AI client for selected stores. Enable supported listing and stock changes deliberately; ordinary writes do not each require separate browser approval.
Approval for sensitive actions
Supported refunds, cancellations and store disconnection require owner approval in the browser. No publicly open connector currently offers order refunds or cancellations.
Provider credentials stay out of chat
Saved provider tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM and are not handed to AI clients. Authorize on the provider’s website, never by pasting credentials into a prompt.
No synced orders or customer database
Store MCP does not maintain a synced orders or customer database. Buyer details need separate sensitive permission, an explicit request and provider access.
Review recorded tool activity
Activity shows Store MCP actions and the acting client within your plan’s retention period. Review the outcome before retrying a change whose result is unknown.

Questions before you connect?
Can I connect WooCommerce today?
Yes. Native merchant-hosted authorization is available. Hosting and plugin configurations vary; a successful test on one host does not establish compatibility with every store.
Can Store MCP edit variations?
Simple and variable products are readable. Listing creation and editing support simple products, not variation creation or editing. Inventory updates can target an exact returned variation inventory row.
Will a shipping plugin add tracking support?
No. Installed extensions do not automatically become Store MCP capabilities. This connector does not provide standardized fulfillment or tracking writes, refunds, cancellations or incoming order events.
What hosting setup is required?
Use a public HTTPS origin, pretty permalinks and the WooCommerce REST API v3. Store MCP requires an origin-root installation, preserved Authorization headers and a working native authorization callback.
