- Connect your AI. Follow its setup guide and choose View only access to one store.
- Ask for a focused check. For example, find listings with no photos. Your AI reads the listings and shows which store each result came from.
- Verify and act. Check the result in your store, add the missing photos there, then ask your AI to check again. This example makes no store changes.

View only to start
Authorize each AI client for selected stores. Enable supported listing and stock changes deliberately; ordinary writes do not each require separate browser approval.
Approval for sensitive actions
Bulk listing changesets, supported cancellations and store disconnection require owner approval in the browser. Ordinary supported writes use the permissions you granted. Refund execution is not supported; complete refunds directly in the commerce platform.
Provider credentials stay out of chat
Saved provider tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM and are not handed to AI clients. Authorize on the provider’s website, never by pasting credentials into a prompt.
No synced orders or customer database
Store MCP does not maintain a synced orders or customer database. Buyer details need separate sensitive permission, an explicit request and provider access.
Review recorded tool activity
Activity shows Store MCP actions and the acting client within your plan’s retention period. Review the outcome before retrying a change whose result is unknown.

Questions before you connect?
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol lets a compatible AI client use tools supplied by a connected service. Store MCP supplies permission-scoped tools for supported seller operations.
Do I need to move my products?
No. Your storefront and existing provider dashboard stay in place. Connect a store, authorize your AI and query supported data when you need it.
What happens on a refund?
Refund execution is not supported by Store MCP. Complete refunds directly in the commerce platform; order reads can still show existing refunds. Supported cancellations and store disconnection require owner browser approval.
When can I connect Etsy?
Shopify is available through the Shopify App Store. Etsy public onboarding awaits Commercial Access approval and is not open yet. eBay, Square and WooCommerce are also available now.
Is my store data stored?
Store MCP does not maintain a synced orders or customer database. It stores connection and account configuration, encrypted credentials, usage and bounded activity records. Buyer details require separate permission and an explicit request.
