Set Up Store MCP Email Notifications

Email destinations are available on plans that include email; order-event coverage is a separate requirement.

Prerequisites

Check Plans and usage for eligible destination types and limits. You need a reachable email address and permission to configure the workspace in the browser. eBay, Square and WooCommerce supply no commerce-event stream.

Steps

Open Notifications in Store MCP and create an email destination. Enter the address in the browser, not in an AI prompt.
Select offered event subscriptions and the intended store scope, then save and enable the destination.
Run the destination test from the website or notifications.test using its destinationId and a unique idempotencyKey.
Confirm a marked test arrives and inspect the destination health. Check provider event support before expecting order notices.

Safe example

The example uses synthetic names. Select your own authorized store and verify every identifier before a write.

List configured notification destinations and their health without showing secret configuration. Explain whether the selected store supplies the subscribed order events. Do not change destinations.

You’re done when…

Expect test delivery and a healthy destination. The synthetic test uses order.created and test: true; it is not evidence that this store emits that event. Check actual events.list separately.

Limitations

Operational owner emails, approval subscriptions and provider commerce events are different flows. Notifications are not historical order backfills. Plan entitlement is checked again at delivery time.
